Steel Office Printer Storage Cabinet — 600mm Height, Floor Standing, for Copiers and Department Use

Now two people print from the same machine. Then five. Paper consumption doubles. Someone puts a stack of file folders on top of the printer. The toner cartridge lives in a cabinet three rooms away. A shared printer setup that worked for two people is broken for five.

The Hengna Model 2 Steel Office Printer Storage Cabinet — 600mm Height was built for exactly this moment — the point where your printer setup stops being simple and starts needing actual infrastructure. At 600mm tall, the top platform sits at a comfortable mid-height. Not so low that you bend for every printout. Not so high that the machine feels disconnected from the workstation. This is the height where a shared printer station becomes a proper work surface, not just a place where the machine happens to sit.

What Changes at 600mm

At 600mm, the top platform sits at roughly knee-to-thigh height for a standing adult. This is intentional.

A printer at knee height is easier to load, easier to collect printouts from, and easier to monitor (you can see the paper tray without crouching). It is also at a height where multiple people — different heights, sitting or standing — can use the same machine without awkward reaching or bending.

For a shared department printer used by 5 to 20 people, this is not a minor ergonomic detail. It is the difference between a printer station that people avoid and one that people actually use.

Interior Storage at 600mm

The interior of the Model 2 at 600mm provides approximately 460mm of usable vertical space with the shelf removed.

With the shelf installed at minimum height:

Lower bay holds 2–3 ream boxes flat, stacked. Shelf area holds toner cartridges, maintenance supplies, and small items.

With the shelf installed at mid-height:
Lower bay holds one flat ream box plus upright file folders. Shelf area holds toner and consumables.

With the shelf removed:
One large open bay — approximately 460mm of uninterrupted height. Holds stacked ream boxes, large binders, or bulky office supplies.

The shelf mounts at fixed positions using pre-drilled holes. This is simpler than free-form adjustment, but more reliable — once set, it stays set. No moving parts to loosen over time.

Department Copy Room Use Cases

Use Case 1 — Accounting firm, 8-person office

The firm processes invoices, contracts, and financial statements daily. Paper consumption runs 3–5 ream boxes per week. Before the Model 2, paper arrived in boxes that sat on the floor beside the printer — a trip hazard and a dust collector.

The Model 2 sits beside the main printer. One full 5-ream box sits flat on the lower bay floor. Two additional boxes stack beside it. Toner lives on the shelf. The floor is clear.

Use Case 2 — Real estate office, open floor plan

Twelve agents share one high-speed multifunction printer. Each agent has their own client file folders. Before: folders scattered across desks. After: standard A4 hanging folders stored inside the Model 2, organized by agent, directly beside the printer.

Use Case 3 — School administrative office

A school office handles enrollment forms, report cards, permission slips, and compliance documents. Paper consumption spikes at term start and end. The Model 2 holds the baseline paper supply — sufficient for normal weeks — with room to stock up before peak periods. Staff no longer make supply runs mid-day.

Platform Compatibility

The 600×600mm platform accommodates most desktop and small-format multifunction copiers:

Printer CategoryTypical Base SizeFits on Model 2?
Desktop inkjet (HP ENVY, Canon PIXMA)400–450mm × 300–380mm✅ Ample margin
Desktop laser (HP LaserJet Pro, Brother)370–430mm × 350–400mm✅ Ample margin
MFP laser (Xerox WorkCentre, Ricoh SP)400–480mm × 450–520mm✅ Comfortable fit
Small floor-standing A3 copier480–550mm × 480–540mm✅ Full support
Large production copier (>60KG)>550mm⚠️ Check base dimensions

The 600mm platform provides a consistent 50–100mm margin on each side for most mid-range office copiers. For large production-grade machines, verify base dimensions before ordering.

Casters and Stability

The Model 2 uses the same heavy-duty industrial caster system as the Model 1, scaled for the 600mm height profile.

Locking: Press down on each caster brake foot to lock. Both wheel rotation and caster swivel lock simultaneously — the unit does not roll or pivot when locked.

Unlocking: Lift the brake lever on each caster. The caster returns to full mobility.

Moving: Unlock both brakes, push the unit to its new position, re-lock. The casters roll on hard floors (tile, VCT, concrete, linoleum) without damage. For carpeted office areas, expect slightly increased resistance when unlocked — this is normal.

For fixed installations: Do not install the casters. The unit sits flat on the floor with the same structural stability. The caster bolt pattern is visible on the base frame — simply leave those holes unused.

Build Quality

Every Hengna cabinet starts with Baosteel Grade-1 cold-rolled steel. This is not commodity steel — it has consistent panel thickness, clean surface quality, and high resistance to deformation under sustained load.

Industrial-grade mold stamping produces each panel with consistent dimensional accuracy. Panels fit together without gaps at the joints. No gaps means no stress concentration at the welds. No stress concentration means no premature metal fatigue.

Structural welds are inspected before assembly. Each unit is checked for dimensional accuracy and weld quality before packing. We operate our own factory and control the output.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the total load capacity?
A: 70KG total structural load — this includes everything on the unit: the printer on top, items on the shelf, and items in the lower bay. The shelf itself is rated for 80KG when used as a standalone load.

Q: Can this fit a full 5-ream copy paper box flat?
A: With the shelf removed, the lower bay provides approximately 460mm of vertical clearance. A standard 5-ream copy paper box is approximately 220×300×550mm. The height clearance of 460mm means the box will not stand upright — but it fits flat and stable on the bay floor. Two to three boxes can be stacked flat side by side depending on available width.

Q: Is the shelf adjustable?
A: The shelf mounts at fixed positions using pre-drilled holes. Mounting positions are set during assembly. The shelf can also be removed entirely for a single open bay.

Q: Can this work as a standing-height workstation?
A: At 600mm, the platform sits at roughly knee-to-thigh height. This is not full standing-desk height (720–750mm), but it is at a comfortable height for standing use without bending. For full standing-height access, see the Model 2 in a fixed-base configuration with a platform riser, or consider the Model 2 fixed-base variant.

Q: What copiers does the 600×600mm platform support?
A: Most mid-range desktop and small floor-standing office copiers. Measure your machine’s base (length × width) before ordering. If both dimensions are under 560mm, the 600×600mm platform provides full coverage with margin. Machines over 60KG: check caster load ratings and verify base dimensions.

Q: Can I add a second shelf?
A: A second shelf is available on bulk custom orders. Contact us with your requirements.

Q: How long does assembly take?
A: 25–35 minutes for one person. KD flat-pack includes all hardware and illustrated instructions. A Phillips-head screwdriver is the only tool required.

Q: What is the warranty?
A: 12-month structural warranty from date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects.
